Welcome to Riverside Academy Football. My name is Kevin Dizer and I am extremely honored to be in the position of Head Football Coach at Riverside Academy. This has been one of the most successful and consistent football programs in the state of Louisiana. We are so excited to have the opportunity to continue that legacy. I had the opportunity to be an assistant under two of the best coaches in Louisiana history right here at RA. Our Athletic Director and Boys Basketball Coach, Timmy Byrd as well as our former Head Football, Coach Bill Stubbs. Coach Stubbs and his coaching staff took this program to new heights. He was able to establish an outstanding winning CULTURE in the locker room. The CULTURE of Riverside Football is the most attractive aspect of the program. The CULTURE here is like no other and the entire community has played a part in the success of Riverside Football. The CULTURE that has been set will be at the forefront of our program. The CULTURE is what will continue to carry this team if we collectively follow the standards in place.
We will continue to believe in and operate under our Three Pillars for Success:
These are the three characteristics we expect from all our student-athletes on and off the field. Not only is this the recipe for winning games, but I also believe that these characteristics are the ingredients to having success in life. I will use football as a medium to grow our boys into men and upstanding citizens in the community. We must all remember that winning is a product of doing things the right way on and off the field, over and over again. There is no difference between this and achieving our goals in life.
I encourage everyone to come and see for yourself what we have going on at Riverside Academy. We welcome anyone interested in being a part of our CULTURE. I have high expectations for our student-athletes, and they will be held accountable to the high standards that have been set by those before us. We have a lot of great things going on at Riverside Academy. Our doors are always open so please feel free to stop by for a visit. We look forward to working with our current and future Rebels!!!

2019 Season QB Club Update:
The new season is upon us!! We can’t wait to see our Rebels take the field. Our first QB club meeting for the season will be held on Tuesday, September 10th in the cafeteria for 6:30pm. Please join us. We will have a meal which can be purchased for $6 (note: meal is optional) along with soft drinks and adult beverages. Meetings are weekly on Tuesdays at 6:30pm. Dates are subject to change.
Welcome to the Riverside QB Club! We are the primary fundraising and support organization for the Riverside football team. It is made up of parents, grandparents, former players and fans who love and want to support our Rebel football program.
During the football season we meet on Tuesday evenings in the RA café at 6pm. There is a meal available for purchase at $6 each and adult beverages for sale. We usually have a local sports person as a guest speaker and then the coaching staff provides a look back at the previous opponent and a look ahead to the upcoming game. Its a great opportunity to have a fun time and support the football program at the same time. We are always looking for meal sponsors who get an opportunity to promote their business to our group. All are welcome to attend. Please consider joining us during the football season.
The QB club has a couple of major fundraising events each year. These two events are critical to the operation of our football program.
First is the Annual QB Club Bash. Tickets to this event are $100 each. You receive two steak dinners with all the trimmings, entry to the dance which is in the café and your name is placed in a cash drawing. The cash giveaway is:
Tickets can be purchased from any football player, coach or QB club member. Please help us out by buying a ticket. Attendance is not required to win the cash prizes.
This year’s Bash will be set at a later date. Dinner is from 6-8pm and the DJ will play from 8-11pm.
The other big event is the annual Golf Tournament. This year the golf tournament will be held at Cypress Lakes CC in Destrehan. A date will be set at a later time. The golf tournament is a wonderful event and there are many ways our fans can join in. First and foremost we would love to have you play in the tournament. You can either play as individual and we will place you with a team or you can gather up a few friend and enter a whole team. We offer morning and afternoon flights. The entry fee to play is $125 per player or $500 per team. You can find the entry form below.
If you are not a golfer or cannot play, then you can support the event by purchasing a sign. Signs are $100 and will provide great visibility for you as they are placed at strategic locations throughout the course.
Lastly, we are always looking for a few more volunteers to assist with the running of the tournament. Whether you play in the tournament, purchase a sign or volunteer we will have food and beverages available all day long. It’s a fun day and I promise you will have a good time if you can join us.

Riverside’s Middle School football team provides the foundation for the varsity football program. This is where we prepare our football players for what they can expect at the varsity level. They have their own coaching staff but the varsity coaching staff provides guidance to make sure the players are learning the offensive and defensive terminology that is used on the next level.
Riverside’s Middle School football team participates in a league named “Christian Youth Football League”. RA is a charter member of this league which was started over ten years ago. We compete with schools such as Newman, Northlake Christian and Holy Ghost.
The Riverside Athletic department is committed to providing our middle school student/athletes with the best coaching, training, facilities and equipment to perform at a high level. We believe our success at the varsity level starts here.
Riverside’s elementary football program is where it all begins. Many of our varsity players got their introduction to “Rebel Football” by playing on our 3rd & 4th grade team. Riverside is one of the few schools in the New Orleans metro area that provides the opportunity to participate in football from 3rd grade all the way through 12th. It is one of the many unique aspects of Riverside Academy.
We field two elementary level football teams. We have a 3rd & 4th grade team along with a 5th & 6th grade team. Both teams participate in the “Christian Youth Football League” where they compete with other schools such as St. Joan of Arc, Ascension of Our Lord, Northlake Christian and Christian Brothers.
By participating on our elementary football teams, these “Little Rebels” get the opportunity to play under the lights on our varsity field where the “Big Boys” play on Friday nights. This gives them the chance to dream about the future where they will get to suit up on Friday nights themselves.
