The Varsity Cheerleading team is a co-ed team organized to promote and uphold school spirit throughout our school and community.

The cheerleading program supports all Riverside Academy athletic teams. The team cheers for football games, girls & boys basketball games, and teams heading to playoff games. Each week the cheerleaders practice cheers, chants, stunts and dances that are used on game day. They create and display signs to promote our Rebel Spirit! They even design the run-through signs our championship football team runs through each Friday night as they take the field. The Cheerleaders also perform at our weekly pep rallies, supporting our Rebel school spirit.

Cheerleaders must be committed to cheering a full year, maintain a passing average, attend UCA cheerleading camps and training, and be able to keep up with a vigorous workout program that includes learning various choreography, stunts and jumps. While it is not required, tumbling is encouraged.

The Rebel cheerleaders have won several awards while attending this year’s LSU summer camp. In their routine they received gold superior evaluations. They also received superior in their cheer, fight song & home routine.
